Barbus catenarius is a species of ray-finned fish in the genus Barbus, and live exclusively in freshwater. It is native to inland Africa, specifically to Ethiopian ecosystems and the Niari-Kouilou River system of the Republic of Congo. They can achieve a maximum length of approximately 4.5 cm.
